Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents,
As another academic year comes to an end, we would like to thank each and every one of you for the patience and support you have given us, despite the challenges we have all had to face during the pandemic.
We are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved this year, despite the lockdown period and are very grateful for the support they received at home with our remote learning programme. Huge congratulations also go to our school staff who mastered Google Classroom so quickly. As their confidence developed, it became clear we have some very creative and accomplished teachers and teaching assistants in our midst!
We are very sad to say goodbye to our Year 6 children but are safe in the knowledge that they are well equipped to take on the new challenge of High School. We send our very best wishes to them for a fantastic summer holiday and to those parents who have completed their children`s learning journey with us, we wish them a fond farewell.
We are also excited to welcome our Year 3 children in September, especially those children who come to us from our EYFS and Keys Stage 1 site at Berry Brow. We know that they will settle in quickly and look forward to all the exciting learning experiences that there are to come.
We say goodbye to Miss Armitage and Miss Boyle who will also be leaving us this year and wish them lots of luck and happiness as they take the next step in their careers.
I am extremely proud of all the staff in our Federation who have worked tirelessly to support the children and their families in any way they could this year. They deserve a well-earned rest over the summer period!
We hope that when we return in September, we will once more be able to invite parents into school to share in their children`s learning. We will also be able to share the report from our recent HMI monitoring visit which was extremely positive.
We have planned a “Meet the Teacher” session for each class on Wednesday 8th September which will give parents the opportunity to meet the adults who will be working with their child, to find out about class routines and to discuss the learning opportunities that will take place. It will also be a chance to ask any questions. If you are able to attend alone, without children, this would be appreciated but not essential. Timings will be as follows:
Year 3 (3KH and 3EM) 3.40pm
Year 4 (4LG and 4EG) 4.00pm
Year 5 (5BW and 5SE) 4.20pm
Year 6 (6HN and 6HH) 4.40pm
On behalf of myself and the Governors, we hope that all our families have a safe, enjoyable and restful summer and look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 6th September.
Kind Regards.
Jane Fraser

Ofsted is inspecting your child's school and we would like to know what you think about the school. Your views about the school are important to us.
If you are a registered parent or carer of a pupil at the school (including pupils on sick leave or who are temporarily excluded), you can tell us your views about the school by completing Ofsted's online survey, Ofsted Parent View, at: www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk .
Ofsted Parent View asks for your opinion on some aspects of your child's school, including the progress made by your child, the quality of teaching, how the school deals with bullying and poor behaviour. It also provides a free-text box for you to make additional comments, if you wish. The inspectors will use the online survey responses when inspecting your child's school.
To register your views, you will need to provide your email address, which will be held securely. It will not be used for any purpose other than providing access to the online survey. Neither schools nor Ofsted will have access to any email addresses.
Please complete the online survey as soon as possible, preferably by 11am on the day of the inspection, as this will give the inspection team more time to consider your views.
Please will you support us in raising money for new classroom reading book titles by buying ice-creams for your families on Friday afternoon? School lost a significant amount of books during lockdown and we hope to replenish our stock of recommended titles.
