MUSIC TO YOUR EARS!

Mrs.Nichol is our music lead across Newsome Junior school.   She has a keen interest in music and loves nothing more than hearing the children singing in assembly and listening to instruments being played.  Each half term we will be learning new songs to reflect the changing seasons and different celebrations.  This half term we will be learning harvest songs and a new song for our celebration assembly. Children will have the opportunity to learn a different musical  instrument in class throughout the year.

We will shortly be starting choir rehearsals and hope to be able to give the children opportunities to perform in concerts throughout the year.

Our Curriculum

Our music lessons at Newsome Junior School follow the Charanga scheme of work.  These lessons allow children to appraise, compose and perform and sequential units are planned for each year group.
