Today you need to record (if you can) and perform your poem! Have fun and send them to the class emails or post them on the Stream feed. Remember to be professional but also artistic! Like a true poet...
You could perhaps dress up appropriately, hold up signs, include actions and sounds e.g. hand claps or taps of feet.

Today the children at home and in school have been 'Dictionary Diving' in their Literacy lessons! They are currently completing a unit called Goblinology and they absolutely love it! Well done Year 4 and keep up the good work!
Today the children in school have been taking part in an Art project called 'Moulding Memories'. They wrote poems, drew comic strips and painted rainbows then...ripped them up! They mixed the paper with PVA glue and water to form a pulp. Then, they filled brick moulds. Below are some examples of their work and the brick making. When the bricks are set I will post a photo of the final products! Well done 4LG.

From Monday 25th January we hope to move solely to online learning via Google Classrooms in Year 4. Completing work via Google Classrooms will allow teachers to give regular feedback and monitor children's work. However, if you are struggling technology wise please get in touch via the class email addresses and we can assist you. We will try our best to supply laptops to those who need one. Where possible, paper packs will no longer be routinely available to children who can access online learning from Monday 25th January.
All the best,
Mrs Greenough and Mrs Lambley

Furthermore, please can all children who are accessing online learning make sure they login to Google Classroom today following the login email and password in their NJS School Planner- If you have any problems please email the office and I will send you your child's details. It is important that children who are using an electronical device to access their work login and accept Google Classrooms today. Work will be added including the date it was set and a due date.

Fabulous Home Learning Topic work completed by Kaitlyn
Thursday 5th November 2020 School Sound Survey: Children worked in groups to mark on their school map the places they visited. Each group measured the sound level at each one, noting the measurements on their school maps. Children shared descriptions of the noisiest places they visited. Each group had a data logger with sound sensor & a school map.
We are pleased to inform you that your child in 4LG will start swimming lessons on Tuesday 10th November, these will continue through to Tuesday 16th March. Each lesson has been extended to ensure that children receive quality time to develop in swimming. The new arrangements mean that swimming lessons can take place in compliance with Covid-19 safe guidance.
For safety, swimwear must be fit for purpose. It should be sufficiently tight fitting to allow freedom of body and limb movement. Therefore boys are required to wear trunks or Lycra shorts, (NOT Bermuda/gym/football/leisure style shorts). Girls are required to wear a one piece swimming costume, (NOT bikinis/tankinis). For health and safety reasons a swimming cap is required. A towel is required. Please ensure your child brings all equipment in a bag.
Goggles are not encouraged. If you feel your child needs goggles, an email is required from you giving permission for them to be worn.
Health and safety guidelines insist that all jewellery and religious adornments must be removed. If your child is unable to remove their own earrings, please ensure this is done prior to them coming to school.
4LG continue to work hard. This week they are writing a diary entry based on our text Egyptian Cinderella. During Guided Reading we have been studying the text The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Ask your child to tell you about the story so far. In French we are thinking about food we like and don't like. We are trying to write and speak in short sentences rather than phrases or key words.

Can I create a circuit with a switch, buzzer, bulb or motor?
I have been in touch with Miss Armitage who has been teaching 4LG for the last week. She has said the class are wonderful and have been working hard to complete their work. I already knew they were, but it is great to hear that others think so too.
It has been wonderful to be back with our class. All the children in 4LG have settled really well, despite the exceptionally long break. The children are managing well with the new routines we are having to employ.
The staff who are working in Class 4LG are: Mrs Lambley, Mrs Greenough, Mrs Khan and Mrs Sarajina.
This week the children have done some assessments to help us better understand where they are at and plan effectively for the coming months. It was great to see nearly everyone coming to school in PE kit on Monday. Please remember that children need some trainers at school every day.
For this term at least, the spellings each week will be on our class page. Please practise them at home. A spelling test will take place on Wednesdays.
Our topic for this term is Ancient Egypt and in Science we will be looking at all things electric! Included in our French work is naming different parts of the body and creating a short sentence which includes a describing word. P.E. is outside and will focus on invasion games such as rugby, hockey, netball and football. R.E. is all about the significance of light across a range of festivals.
Please email or phone the office if there is anything we can be of help with.
